In Divinity: Original Sin 2, Nebora is one of the first non-playable characters you’ll encounter when you arrive at Fort Joy. She’s a blacksmith who hints that she can remove your Source Collar, but she seems hesitant to do it. Getting her to help isn’t overly complicated, but it does require completing a specific task. Only The One—someone special—can have their collar removed, no matter what that really means. Below, I’ll guide you through how to persuade Nebora to help you and what it takes to get your collar permanently removed.
Getting Nebora to Remove Your Collars in Divinity: Original Sin 2
To convince Nebora to take off your Source Collar in Fort Joy, you need to win the Fort Joy Arena. Here’s what to do:
- Head to the Fort Joy Kitchen, located just south of the Waypoint statue.
- Talk to Noosey, who will tell you about the Fort Joy Arena, accessible through a hatch nearby.
- Go through the hatch and find Thola. When you’re prepared, speak to him to start a fight against multiple enemies in the arena.
- Win the battle, and you’ll be crowned the Champion of Fort Joy.
- Visit Nebora afterward and tell her you are the champion. She will then remove only your main character’s collar, not those of the entire party.
Important Tips:
- Be at least level 3 for the arena, though level 4 or 5 is better.
- Save your game before entering the arena because if you fail, you might not get another chance.
- Keep in mind, removing the collar makes all Magisters hostile toward you. If you surrender, you’ll be thrown into jail at Fort Joy, and you’ll have to escape. Fighting them will lead to combat.
Other Ways to Remove Source Collars
While Nebora is the earliest option, she isn’t the only way. You can also find Leya outside the Sanctuary of Amadia, who can remove collars as well. Additionally, all collars will be automatically taken off in the final part of Act 1 if you haven’t used these methods earlier.
Remember, having your collar removed can have consequences, so plan your escape route carefully before you do it. This is best done just before you’re ready to leave the fortress for good.
