While you’re adventuring on the Rivain Coast in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, you’ll come across Grey Warden Castle, where a chest is located just out of reach in the Castle Bailey area. If you’re looking to gather more loot and complete all the codex entries, you’ll need to find a way to access that chest.
It can be a bit challenging to figure out how to climb up to the platform where the chest is situated. This guide will provide you with a step-by-step approach on how to get there, as well as highlight some interesting points along the way.
How To Reach The Chest In The Castle Bailey
After entering the Castle Bailey from the south side of the Grey Warden Castle, you’ll likely need to utilize Taash’s ability to unlock a new area, unless you’ve already done so as part of the ‘The Warden Vault’ quest.
Once inside the bailey, look to your right—there’s an explosive barrel on the wall. Use Taash’s ability (or Rook’s dagger) on it to bring down a ladder. Climb the ladder, then turn right and jump onto the wooden beam.
Follow the beams along the castle wall and keep moving until you find the tower. Here, you can collect the Free Marches Guardian Memento and also find a chest that holds the Warden’s Key Amulet.
After you’ve gathered your prizes, descend the ladder onto the platform below. From there, jump to the left of the ladder to land on the platform where the chest is located. This is your chance to claim a new weapon for Rook.
Caution: Be careful when jumping. Avoid leaping forward into the bailey, or you might miss the landing and have to start over.
