Some people think MindsEye is a flop because of poor reviews or sabotage. It’s now one of the biggest disappointments of 2025. If you want to give it a go, the price has already dropped significantly just a month after its launch.
This game was originally priced at $60, which seemed reasonable before its release. However, now that it’s out, many feel that $60 is too high. That’s why the price has been cut by a third to $40 at most retailers.
MindsEye’s Price Cut
Great News for $40 Buyers
You can find physical copies of MindsEye for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S at stores like Amazon, Walmart, Target, and GameStop. Best Buy is still selling it for $59.99, indicating that the price drop might be a retailer decision rather than from the game’s developers, Build A Rocket Boy.
If you’re still unsure about spending $40 on MindsEye, you could wait for more price drops. Similar games have seen their prices fall significantly after launch. For instance, Ubisoft’s Skull And Bones is another game that experienced a price cut, while Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League dropped below $10.
On the other hand, MindsEye might become a collectors’ item in the future, even seemingly unnecessary now. Its single-player format means there’s no rush for physical copies, and retailers may be discounting to clear stock.
It’s unfortunate that while many joke about MindsEye, the game’s poor performance could lead to job losses. Reports suggest that as many as 100 developers at Build A Rocket Boy might be laid off due to the game’s troubled launch.
