Mewgenics: Zodiac Boss Guide to Completing and Solving

Select Language:

Mewgenics is a sizable game packed with plenty to explore and accomplish. The game spans several acts, each introducing new unique locations and increasingly tough bosses. Just when you think you’ve seen everything, it throws a surprise that leaves you stunned and a bit disturbed—yet you enjoy every moment. The game keeps improving, and the desert region in Act Two is a perfect example of that progress.

Act Two significantly raises the difficulty, with Zodiac standing out as a particularly tough boss that might halt most players on their first try. However, understanding his patterns and tactics is part of the challenge. Once you crack his code, he becomes much easier to handle. Just remember to ignore all the bullet holes and blood—stay focused.

Zodiac Overview

As one of the final bosses in the desert area, Zodiac is notorious for giving players a hard fight to keep you from progressing. He’s fast, has nearly unlimited range, and deals a ton of damage with his revolver. To beat him, you must use every advantage at your disposal. Without proper tactics, you’ll have a tough time, so preparation is key.

Here’s a quick overview of Zodiac along with our recommended units to give you the best chance of defeating this gun-wielding feline:

Boss Info Details
Boss Type Final Boss
Region Act Two: The Desert
Max HP 75 HP
Possible Drops Bag o’ Stuff (Weapon), Small Bomb (Weapon)

Note: The list of potential drops isn’t final, as all bosses drop random items. We’ll keep updating this to reflect all the possible rewards.

Recommended Units

To succeed, you’ll want a well-rounded team including a Thief, Hunter, Tank, and Cleric. We once tried a Necromancer instead of a Thief and strongly recommend against it. The right team lets your units heal others, land critical hits, and waste Zodiac’s shots. Here are some ideal unit options based on the units’ stats:

Collar Stats
Thief Speed +4, Luck +1, Constitution -1, Strength -1
Hunter Dexterity +3, Luck +2, Speed -2, Constitution -1
Tank Constitution +4, Dexterity -1, Intelligence -1
Cleric Charisma +2, Constitution +2, Dexterity -1, Speed -1

A balanced team with these roles gives you the best chance. Heavy hitters, healers, and tank units working together is the key to victory.

How to Defeat Zodiac

Facing Zodiac is a test of patience and strategy. He’ll shoot anything that moves—and that includes your units, so the key is to make him waste his bullets. He has only six shots in his revolver, so you want him to use all of them up by shooting at environmental objects such as tires, boxes, or cacti. Use cover effectively to lure his fire away from your units.

As you inch closer, keep him distracted so he has to reload. Once he’s out of ammo, he’ll create space and prepare to shoot again. Take advantage of this moment by moving your units behind cover or summoning Familiars to draw fire. If you can get your Hunter close enough to launch Familiars at him and land attacks, you’ll do significant damage. Meanwhile, your Thief can teleport behind him for a backstab, which will drastically reduce his health.

Using Cover and Familiars

Throughout the fight, constantly seek cover and employ Familiars to absorb or distract Zodiac’s shots. Moving behind tall objects will make him shoot the environment instead of your units. When he reloads, close in with your Hunter and land more hits, then have your Tank move up to deal damage directly. Keep repeating this pattern: distract, attack, then conserve your resources for the right moment to strike.

Handling Zodiac’s Rapid Fire

Zodiac shoots everything that moves or appears in his line of sight. Since he only has six shots, you can force him to use some on environmental objects by moving behind cover. Summon Familiars—especially Leech Familiars—to draw his fire. Once he’s reloaded, attack him with your Hunter and then quickly close in with your Thief for a devastating backstab.

When Zodiac runs out of ammo, he’ll step back and start reloading, creating a window where you can safely move closer. He’ll have fewer objects for cover, so use this opportunity wisely. Deal damage from a safe distance using Familiars or ranged attacks, and then close in when his reloading animation begins.

Final Tips

  • Don’t rush; patience is critical.
  • Use status ailments like Bleed or Poison if possible.
  • Keep your Cleric protected; their healing plays a vital role.
  • Teleport behind Zodiac with your Thief to maximize damage.
  • Use your Tank to absorb shots and help position other units.
  • Focus on making Zodiac waste his bullets and reload time to your advantage.

By carefully planning your moves, managing cover, and leveraging your team’s strengths, you’ll outsmart Zodiac and claim victory in this intense boss fight.
