You can’t move forward with the Indiana Jones DLC Shrine maze until you’ve checked out the two levels on either side of the main area. There, you’ll find four pictures of gladiators with shields featuring animals. Take photos of each. Your goal is to guide the flaming ball through the maze to hit the four gladiator statues in the order listed below:

1. Lion
2. Boar
3. Tiger
4. Bear

Beneath the Bear gladiator, you’ll see part of a sword. Insert this piece into the hand of the large central statue to create a lever. Pulling this lever will release a flaming ball that starts rolling around the track until it drops into a hole, resetting everything.

This begins the real challenge. The task involves carefully maneuvering three track pieces around the maze while remembering where to place them so the ball hits all four statues in the correct order. Remember, you must pass through each gladiator statue in the sequence shown on the paintings: first the lion, then the boar, followed by the tiger, and finally the bear. Keep in mind the statue at the back of the chamber, which isn’t part of the maze—use it as a reference point for your strategy.

There’s no simple trick here. Be prepared with two curved and one straight piece of track, and plan your moves ahead. While you place each piece, stay aware of where your previous pieces are so you don’t lose track, especially during the frantic moments.

From my own experience of trial and error, following the path through the statues in order takes some time but the longer sections and the way the pieces are used give you a bit of breathing room. The route I suggest is the most straightforward, but you can take your time doing a more complicated path as long as you hit the statues in the right order. If you make a mistake, especially one that doesn’t involve hitting the wrong statue, you might try to recover, but resetting might be faster.

Once you successfully hit all four statues in the correct sequence, the back statue will lower, its hand will open, and you’ll receive one of the missing cylinder pieces needed to complete the puzzle.
