Once you’ve wrapped up the Divine Messenger Quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll understand the situation at hand. Soon, Otto Von Bergow will mobilize his army, heading to Nabakov to confront the bandits, along with Henry, Hans, and Godwin.
This encounter will be monumental, and considering the size of Von Bergow’s forces, it will quickly become clear who holds the advantage. The Finger of God quest may present some challenges, but this guide is here to help you navigate it smoothly.
Burying the Dead
As a devout man, Godwin will urge Henry to help him bury three fallen soldiers. Follow him, and you’ll find three bodies along the left side of the path. The graveyard will be on the right, so grab a shovel and dig three graves.
Once you’ve finished digging, lift each body and lay them to rest while Godwin offers prayers. After this, follow Godwin to the fosse, where you’ll come across a nefarious creation: a handgun. Learn how to operate the weapon, and upon completing the training, you’ll receive 20 lead balls and your very first firearm.
Taking on Optional Quests
You can choose to head straight to the main quest by sleeping or dive into some optional quests first. It’s a better strategy to tackle the optional quests as they will not only strengthen your forces for the impending battle but also provide additional interactions.
For starters, speak with Hired Hand Bluster to load supplies into a cart. He’s not particularly amiable, and your initial interaction might lead to a brawl, which is an easy one to win. After that, load five sacks into the cart, which can feel a bit tedious.
Another engaging task is helping Klara. You can find her near the cells in a heated argument with a pair of guards; approach and defuse the situation. Choosing the first option is typically safer, as trying to intimidate them could result in a fight. If you have good Charisma, you might also try the second option.
If you miss Klara by the prison cells, you can locate her in her cabin as an alternative. So, if she’s not in the first spot, check her cabin.
Afterward, engage Klara once more, and she’ll express her gratitude. She’ll request your help in treating three soldiers, so gather the necessary supplies from her cabin and tend to their wounds. Once completed, you’ll unlock the opportunity to romance Klara. However, it’s advisable to finish other tasks before pursuing this romance, as it may not be possible afterward.
If you’ve had a romantic encounter with Klara prior during the Back in the Saddle quest, you can ask her, “No walk today, I reckon?” for additional dialogue.
Other tasks to complete before courting Klara include:
- Finding horseshoes for Peltzel at the stables.
- Assisting Bull by providing three weapons at the forge.
- Playing dice with Hans Capon, located by the watchtower.
Remember, if you engage in a game of dice with Hans before interacting with Klara, you’ll miss a significant segment of the story. It’s best to talk to her first!
Defending the Castle from Von Bergow’s Army
Henry will awaken amidst the clamor of preparations for battle, as Von Bergow’s forces have arrived. You, together with the soldiers, must defend the castle. After an extended cutscene, you’ll receive your first task: take down the enemy’s ladders.
To locate a halberd, turn around the corner behind you from where you start.
To accomplish this, equip your halberd, move close to the ladder, and press E on the keyboard or A|X on the controller.
Once you’ve dealt with the ladders, your next objective is to assist Hans. Move over to him and prevent the enemies from breaching the main gate. Pick up stones and hurl them down at the enemies to take them out.
After this, Captain Zizka will lead you to confront another wave of foes. Follow him and engage in the fight, focusing on enemies already distracted by your allies. Attack them from behind for an easier kill.
If you neglect any objectives, the enemy will breach the castle, immediately concluding the quest. Also, there’s a glitch where, if you take too long to reach other objectives, the enemies will freeze in place, preventing progress. If that occurs, just reload the quest.
Eventually, make your way to the courtyard where another cutscene will play. Henry, Zizka, Hans, and Godwin refuse to surrender, but the enemy presents a hidden trump card: a cannon, another dreadful invention. They fire a cannonball directly at you, leaving little chance for survival. This will conclude the quest.
