The stealth sections in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be quite challenging. Guards are very perceptive and often keep a close watch on the doors and gates you need to pass through. Distracting them will be essential to staying safe.
Instead of waiting for enemies to leave your path, you can toss stones and rocks to divert their attention. When you throw a stone near a character, they will turn to investigate the noise, giving you the perfect opportunity to sneak through a door or enter a room they were monitoring. Just remember to stay quiet while doing so.
How to Throw Stones
You’ll learn how to throw stones early in the game, but it’s easy to forget the details. To throw a stone, crouch first by pressing the right thumbstick on a controller, or ‘C’ on PC. Then, aim at your target and press R1/RB on PlayStation and Xbox, or ‘G’ on PC.
Interestingly, Henry can only throw stones while crouched. You cannot throw from a standing position, so be mindful of what you aim for while you’re lower to the ground.
When to Throw Stones
The optimal moments to throw stones are when you’re sneaking around restricted zones. They can be used to lure guards away from your current position, allowing you to edge closer to your objectives or even execute stealth kills from behind.
You can also use rocks to knock down nests that you’ll find scattered throughout the wilderness in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You might notice these nests as you ride past trees and through the forests. If you successfully knock one down with a stone, you might discover rewards like dice badges among the debris.
Avoid throwing stones at people, as this will result in them demanding a fine if you hit them. While it won’t inflict any damage, it can lead to annoyance and unwanted consequences.
