In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, being able to read is a valuable skill. Not every character you encounter can read, reflecting the historical context of the game. Throughout your adventures, Henry will frequently be asked about his reading abilities.
To enhance Henry’s speaking skills and intelligence, spending time with books is essential. While it’s beneficial, some books require a significant time investment. Fortunately, there are strategies to boost the speed at which Henry can read.
How to Read Books More Quickly
To read a book you’ve found or purchased in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you need to open your inventory and navigate to the Books tab. From there, select Study and decide how long you want to read. Keep in mind that some books necessitate a specific level of your Scholarship stat to read.
If you return to the book in your inventory after clocking some reading time, you can see the percentage of the book you’ve completed. When you reach 100 percent, the book can be sold.
Henry’s reading speed is directly linked to his Scholarship stat. Using this stat in conversations (indicated by a book icon) will earn you experience points and increase your reading speed. Therefore, the more you read and interact with NPCs, the quicker your studying will become.
You can further boost your Scholarship stat by purchasing the Master Studies book from the Scribe located near the market in the center of Kuttenberg.
Finally, if you unlock the Cushion skill within the Scholarship stat’s skill tree, you’ll enhance your studying efficiency. This skill provides a 50 percent boost to comfort when sitting. So, make sure to find a bench or bed to sit on while reading for optimal results.
