Monster Hunter Wilds Overview
In Monster Hunter Wilds, your character embarks on an adventure to uncover the reasons behind the menacing assaults of a fearsome creature known as the White Wraith. As you traverse the Forbidden Lands, you’ll encounter a variety of formidable new monsters to hunt, alongside familiar opponents from earlier adventures.
Gravios, a well-known foe in the Monster Hunter franchise, makes a notable return in the Oilwell Basin. This monster’s tough shell is well-suited to endure the intense heat of its surroundings. Here’s what you need to know about Gravios.
Gravios – Strengths and Weaknesses
Gravios features a significant area of weaknesses, yet it also has parts that are challenging to target. The belly, head, and back are all vulnerable; although the belly offers the best opportunity for dealing damage. Remember, while parts like the legs, wings, and tail can be broken or severed, they present their own challenges, so be prepared with the Partbreaker skill to maximize your chances.
On the elemental front, it’s best to utilize Water, Ice, and Dragon-type weapons, as these will deal the most damage. Fire-based weapons are ineffective against Gravios; however, any weapon type that delivers slashing, blunt, or piercing damage will still be viable for the battle.

Gravios – Combat Strategy and Moves
Gravios poses a significant challenge due to its extremely durable skin, making it difficult to damage unless your weapon is sharp enough. To increase your chances of hitting, focus on its belly, or utilize blunt weapons to weaken its defenses.
This monster can emit clouds of Fire and Sleep elements that can leave you vulnerable to attack. Stay vigilant and use items or skills that counter these ailments. Additionally, Gravios can charge at high speed, launching a powerful fire beam that can deal devastating damage.
By targeting its belly regularly and avoiding its attack patterns, you can emerge victorious, especially if you manage your resistances effectively.
