Furnace Golem Attacks

Furnace Golems are not easy adversaries; they can detect you from afar and unleash attacks like fireballs and flaming shockwaves that are nearly impossible to evade on foot.
Ensure you approach them on horseback. As you draw near, these giants will launch fireballs from their furnace-shaped heads, creating a wide damage radius that can inflict severe physical harm on players.
They also execute ground slams with their legs, dealing only physical damage, but their upgraded version involves jumping high before crashing down, resulting in a massive fire shockwave that can only be dodged by double-jumping while mounted.
One of their most lethal moves is the grab attack, where a Golem will sweep its arm and catch players, tossing them into its furnace for an instant kill, regardless of health points.
Occasionally, they may perform sweep attacks with their arms, which are tricky to evade.
How to Defeat Furnace Golems

The most effective method for taking down Furnace Golems is to hurl Hefty Fire or Hefty Furnace Pots at them. However, there are a couple of important considerations.
While Hefty Furnace Pots can nearly eliminate a Golem in one hit, you’ll need Furnace Visage to craft them—a material obtainable only by defeating a Furnace Golem.
Keep in mind that Hefty Fire Pots cause significantly less damage compared to Hefty Furnace Pots.

Secondly, you need to be positioned above the Golem’s head to successfully throw the pot into its furnace. This is achievable in certain scenarios, but will be challenging in open areas. You can bring the Golem to its knees by targeting its legs from behind.

The legs of most golems remain exposed, providing you with an opportunity. Strike at their legs from behind and stay alert to summon Torrent when they leap. If you break their stance, they will collapse to the ground, allowing you to land a critical hit to their face or hurl a Hefty Furnace Pot into their furnace.
Once you gather enough Hefty Furnace Pots from visiting the Golem graveyard, you’ll be ready to take on all the Furnace Golems in the Shadow of the Erdtree.
It’s advisable to only challenge this field boss after securing enough Scadutree Blessings and leveling up your Mimic Tear to its maximum potential. Summoning the Mimic Tear can distract the Golem while you focus on attacking its legs, giving you a perfect opportunity to heal and strategize.
