Once there, defeat the Fire Giant. To unlock the next part of your quest, seek Melina’s assistance to ignite the Erdtree, transporting you to the Crumbling Farum Azula.

Fight through the Crumbling Farum Azula and defeat Malekith the Black Blade. After this victory, you’ll be able to return to Leyndell, though it will now be covered in ash.
