In Hello Kitty Island Adventure, players start by meeting only a few characters, primarily the cute characters from the opening scene. These characters are scattered throughout Friendship Island, and it takes some time to reach them. The initial characters you will encounter include Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Tuxedosam, who live in Seaside Resort.
Some characters remain mysterious and can only be befriended later in the game. For instance, TOPHAT shows up occasionally but can’t be interacted with until later on. Another notable character is Kiki, who is the charming brother of Lala from the Twin Stars. If you’re looking to befriend Kiki, this guide will help you out!
Finding Kiki
You’ll often come across Kiki and Lala throughout the game. They particularly make appearances to congratulate you after you finish power crystal quests before disappearing again. To meet Kiki and Lala, head on over to Cloud Island, but keep in mind that getting there requires completing several quests.
Many of these quests involve traveling through various biomes, solving puzzles, and assisting other characters. Take your time and be ready to tackle various challenges to unlock access to Cloud Island! Below is a list of the quests you need to finish in order to access Cloud Island:
The Stargazing quest is only available at night. If it’s not nighttime in your game, you can sleep in one of the visitor cabins until nightfall, then go to Moon Island to meet Hello Kitty. After chatting with her, you will see Sky Fragments falling in different locations on Friendship Island.
Collecting these fragments is easy since they are all marked on your map:
- The first Sky Fragment will appear right next to you, so you won’t miss it.
- Another can be found in Spooky Swamp, near Kuromi and My Melody. You’ll need to talk to them to get it.
- One fragment is located at Rainbow Reef, inside the comedy club where Hangyodon is. Step inside, complete the dialogue with him and Retsuko, and you’ll receive it.
- A fragment is also found in Gemstone Mountain, where you should speak with Chococat and Badtz-Maru.
- The final Sky Fragment is located at Mount Hothead. Chat with Keroppi to collect it.
Once you have all five fragments, head back to Moon Island and talk to Hello Kitty again. A portal will then appear in the center of the island. This portal leads to Cloud Island, a significant area filled with new characters, quests, and rewards. Entering it will take you to Cloud Island Plaza, where Kiki and Lala will be waiting for you.
After your conversation with them, you will complete the Stargazing quest and unlock the ability to interact with Kiki and Lala further. You can now chat with them, give gifts, and cultivate your friendship over time.
Gifts for Kiki
Kiki appreciates gifts from the Stars, Dreamy, and Frozen categories. When you give Kiki a gift, he will reward you with Stardust, which is great for crafting special items. The easiest gift to present is Starfruit, which can be found on trees located in Cloud Island.
Once your friendship with Kiki reaches level two, you will earn the Star Crafting Plans. Using three Stars, you can create a Dreamy Star, which is a more valuable gift for Kiki. This crafting plan for the Dreamy Star becomes available when your friendship with Lala reaches level seven.
At this point, you can give Kiki the two-heart gift, Dreamy Star, which increases your friendship more effectively than one-heart gifts.
Here’s a quick reference for gifts:
Hearts | Gifts |
---|---|
3 Hearts | Starry Skies Shake |
2 Hearts | Art Supplies, Decorative Cloud Cart, Dreamy Star, Pastel Rainbow Banister |
1 Heart | Any item with Stars, Dreamy, or Frozen tags |
Kiki will accept gifts that fit these descriptions. For a simple one-star gift, consider giving him a critter named Woolox from the Icy Peak. For a two-star gift, Art Supplies is an affordable option, although its crafting plan becomes available only after reaching friendship level seven with Kiki.
For a three-heart gift, make the Starry Skies Shake using the Dessert Machine. You will need one Starfruit, one Cactus Cream, and one Snowcicle. Cactus Cream can be found in Gemstone Mountain, and Snowcicle is found in Icy Peak.
Friendship Rewards
As you strengthen your bond with Kiki, you’ll unlock various crafting plans for better gifts for him or his sister, along with star-themed decoration items. He will only offer you a story quest if your friendship reaches level ten.
