One of 2K’s major franchises is officially moving away from last-generation consoles and will not be releasing on PlayStation 4.
The upcoming release in the WWE 2K series, WWE 2K26, is scheduled for March 13, 2026. When it launches, it will completely skip the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, focusing only on newer consoles and PC.
For the first time since WWE 2K games made their debut on PlayStation 4, the latest installment will only be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
WWE 2K26 marks the 26th entry in this long-running franchise, following WWE 2K25 released in 2025. The cover athlete is superstar CM Punk, who makes his return to the game after nearly a decade away from the WWE.
This new version introduces a selection of classic wrestling match types, including Dumpster matches, “I Quit” matches, Inferno matches, and the 3 Stages of Hell. Additionally, the popular 2K Showcase mode is back, this time highlighting CM Punk’s career and his recent return to WWE.
