The Guild is one of the fascinating factions you will encounter while playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, particularly after reaching Kuttenberg. Henry is intrigued and eager to join, but the process isn’t straightforward. The leader, Chenyek, will put you through a series of questions to determine whether you can be part of the group.
Once you’re accepted, be prepared to take on numerous quests for both Chenyek and the Guild members. These quests are typically engaging and can yield valuable rewards for Henry. One notable quest available through the Guild is the Thieves’ Code quest.
How To Start The Thieves’ Code Quest
After completing your first guild mission, A Feast for the Poor, head to Chenyek’s usual spot at the Hole in the Wall Tavern, located just southeast of Kuttenberg.
Chenyek is often found seated near the skeleton. Speak with him and ask if he has more tasks for you.
He will confirm and instruct you to investigate some unusual symbols at specific times throughout the city. This marks the beginning of the Thieves’ Code quest.
How To Find The Old Thieves’ Hideout
As usual, Knuckles, ever the curious one, wants to uncover this mystery himself, so go ahead and talk to him. You’ll find him at the tavern entrance.
At this stage, your dialogue choices don’t affect the outcome, since a significant decision comes later in the quest.
Knuckles will direct you to Hynek’s house, located just north of the city. Proceed to the house and enter. Inside, you’ll discover Hynek’s body, with Hog standing beside it.
You can talk to him to find out what transpired, but more importantly, be sure to loot Hynek’s corpse to obtain a letter from him.
After retrieving the letter, check your inventory and read it. It contains a riddle meant to lead you to the old thieves’ hideout.
Don’t forget to talk to Hog again after deciphering the riddle.
To locate the old thieves’ hideout, head to the Fountain, which is situated just west of the city. A trader’s shop will be found in front of it.
Look for a path behind the shop; you can either sneak through or circle around the building. You’ll find a locked door that leads to the basement.
Use a lockpick to open it, then head downstairs. Turn left to find another door.
Inside this room, you should see a chest. Use a lockpick to access it and retrieve the Parchment With Drawings. Read it from your inventory.
How To Complete The Thieves’ Code Quest
Having gathered information about the symbols, here is your critical choice: you can either inform Chenyek about what you found or let Knuckles copy the symbols.
Your choice matters:
- If you aim to continue the Guild questline, then choose Chenyek.
- However, opting for Knuckles may cut you off from further quests in this storyline.
Regardless of your decision, you will have finished the Thieves’ Code quest.
