While helping Kliff reunite with his Greymane allies, it’s smart to take advantage of Crimson Desert’s collection of rare weapons and armor to make battles easier. One of the top weapons to find early is the Frozen Anguish sword, a rare two-handed weapon hidden in the Spire of Frost, located in the northwest of Deadfire Mountain in Demeniss.
This weapon is heavily guarded by enemies and the cold climate, which can slow you down if you’re not equipped with enough Ice Resistance. Luckily, there’s an efficient method to obtain the Frozen Anguish and upgrade your gear simultaneously with some new armor.
What Is the Frozen Anguish?
The Frozen Anguish is a powerful two-handed sword that can slice through enemies with its raw strength. Its key stats and effects include:
- 25 Base Attack
- Attack Speed buff at level 1
- Stamina Siphon Level 1
- Attack boost at level 1
- Four Refinements
Despite its name, this sword does not deal Ice elemental damage.
How to Find & Get the Frozen Anguish
The sword is hidden inside the Spire of Frost, which is northwest of Deadfire Mountain in Demeniss. Since the area is very cold, it’s recommended to wear the Frostcursed Plate Armor Set to protect yourself from the harsh environment. Alternatively, using a Bear Cloak can grant you Cold Immunity if you have one, making it easier to explore.
Start by climbing the icy stairs, making sure to jump over slippery sections and avoid enemies along the way. Use your Turning Slash skill (RB+RT on Xbox or R1+R2 on PlayStation) to smash the ice blocking the frozen lamp on the left. Once the lamp is exposed, quickly light it to prevent the ice from refreezing, then open the nearby door.
Inside, run quickly, then crouch under the winding staircase to access a chest that contains the Frozen Anguish sword. If you wish to clear out the area of enemies, keep ascending the Spire and activate all seven lamps, then complete the Hall of Malice puzzle to unlock the area completely.
