One of the rarest outfits you can earn in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is obtained by locating all three pieces of Misko’s Treasure, which are hidden in various chests throughout the game. These pieces contain robust armor that aids players in their battles against Hyrule’s mightiest foes. As players complete multiple side quests that guide them across the game map, they gradually uncover the tale of the legendary bandit known as Misko through each discovered treasure. Although each item isn’t part of a full armor set, they each offer useful benefits.
Players can initiate the quests related to Misko’s Treasure by talking to a character named Meeshy, who wears a blue mushroom hat. You can find Meeshy wandering in the Hyrule wilds; I encountered her at the Great Tabantha Stable, but she also appears near the Hyrule Garrison Ruins. Typically, she roams around Hyrule Field, venturing beyond Kakariko Village and deep into the regions of Central Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom. Engaging in a brief conversation with her will pinpoint the locations of all three treasures on your map, alongside slight hints about where to locate each one.
How to Find the Powerful Outfit in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Location of the Powerful Outfit
One piece of Misko’s Treasure, as stated by Meeshy, is said to "fill the wearer with power," referring to the Barbarian Armor chest piece. For this treasure, you’ll need to follow the map coordinates (0477, 0723, 0041), located in the southwest section of Crenel Hills. You will enter the Crenel Hills Cave, which is part of the broader Hyrule Field area.
Players will first need to utilize Bomb Flowers on the Luminous Rocks within the cave to access the Barbarian Armor. The cave begins with a path that leads into a spacious area filled with Luminous Rock. As you turn left in this chamber, you’ll find a dense collection of glowing rocks on the wall. Associating a Bomb Flower as a fuse with any weapon will allow you to eliminate this mass, revealing a secret passage.
However, be wary — explosions in this area will provoke a Stone Talus, a formidable mini-boss. It’s advisable to swiftly enter the tunnel to avoid the fight and follow the hidden path until you reach a small building containing a chest. This chest holds the Barbarian Armor, which provides 3 Armor points and increases Link’s attack power, aiding in a potential showdown against the Talus during your exit.
Engaging the Talus
When you do decide to face the Talus, prepare for a challenging encounter. Although defeating them in Tears of the Kingdom is easier than in Breath of the Wild, you’ll still need to gain the upper hand. Position yourself underneath the Talus and utilize the Ascend ability to quickly reach its back. Target the large ore deposits protruding from its back with blunt weapons like hammers, and continue the assault until it’s defeated.
How to Locate the Climbing Outfit in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Meeshy mentions another treasure from Misko that can "let you quickly climb cliffs," which refers to the Climbing Gear in Tears of the Kingdom. This exclusive chest piece grants Link a speed boost while climbing and is essential for exploration. Players can find this treasure at the North Hyrule Plain Cave, specifically at the coordinates (-1188, 0646, 0072).
Cave Exploration
Inside the North Hyrule Plain Cave, you’ll encounter Like Likes, creatures that must be defeated by attacking their exposed orbs. The Ascend ability is extremely useful here, allowing players to swim up from beneath a rock ledge located near a waterfall on the path right after entering the cave.
As you progress and eliminate the Like Likes, head along the water until you notice the largest waterfall to your left. This site will help guide you into hidden areas and additional treasures.
Concluding Thoughts
The final piece of Misko’s treasure is the Rubber Armor, described by Meeshy as a protective gear that "keeps you safe in lightning." You will locate this armor in Whistling Hill Cave at coordinates (-0065, -1053, 0019). Gaining access might require you to complete the "Yunobo of Goron City" quest, which enables Yunobo to clear the cracked rocks blocking your path.
The Rubber Armor offers 3 Armor points and Shock Resistance, making it a valuable item when facing enemies like Thunder Gleeoks. Players will find it especially handy for rainy battles, letting them wield metal weapons without the fear of being electrocuted.
By getting through various Misko’s Treasure quests scattered across Hyrule, players will earn unique armor pieces that can be combined with other gear in Tears of the Kingdom, creating versatile loadouts tailored to various challenges throughout the game.
