To get Hades 2 G Rock, also known as Glassrock, you need to travel through Erebus and Oceanus until you reach the Fields of Mourning in the Underworld. It’s a tough material to find because it spawns rarely in an area that doesn’t have many encounter spots. However, it’s a crucial resource if you want to unlock every weapon and some special Aspects. Here’s what you should know about collecting G Rock and what you can do with it.
You can mine Glassrock in Hades 2 by using the Crescent Pick in the Fields of Mourning. Look for sharp, dark rock outcroppings as you explore the area—your best bet is to follow Selene’s Reagent Sensing guide or just keep an eye out. Strike each outcropping three times to gather three pieces of Glassrock.
Since the Fields of Mourning is the third region in the Underworld, you’ll need to defeat both Hecate and the Hades 2 Scylla boss to access this area. The region is relatively small with only a few large locations, which means fewer chances to find Glassrock even once you’re there.
As you become stronger, the journey to the Fields should get easier. Bringing Raki, the white raven Familiar, along can help increase your odds of finding Glassrock outcroppings and speed up mining them.
The main reason to farm G Rock early on is to upgrade your Crescent Pick to Rank II or to unlock the Argent Skull weapon. But it also has other uses, along with some materials you’ll need for different upgrades:
– Upgrading the Crescent Pick to Rank II requires 4 Glassrock and 2 Hades 2 Iron.
– Unlocking the Argent Skull weapon demands 2 Glassrock and 1 Hades 2 Bronze.
– Accessing the Sister Blades’ Aspect of Artemis needs 15 Silver and 1 Glassrock.
– Unlocking the Moonstone Axe’s Aspect of Thanatos requires 4 Glassrock and 4 Nightshade.
