Level Up Your Axe in Luma Island: A Quick Guide

In any crafting, survival, or RPG game, upgrading your gear is essential, and Luma Island is no exception. After the tutorial, you’ll be given seven basic tools, including your trusty Axe and Pickaxe. All but two of these tools can be enhanced using the anvil in town.

You’ll find yourself gathering a variety of materials for crafting recipes, and relying on the basic, slow tools you start with can become frustrating. As you upgrade your equipment, you’ll be able to collect resources like wood, stone, and ore much more efficiently.

To upgrade your tools, make sure you have completed the tutorial. You’ll need Gold, several basic materials, a specific type of Spirit related to the tool, and most importantly, Tool Tokens.

Each upgrade level requires a certain number of Tool Tokens, which can typically be obtained by breaking Old Barrels, Old Crates, and Old Vases, or by opening treasure chests.

Once you have all the necessary items, head to Sylvia’s Anvil, located on the edge of town next to Balthazar’s Shop and the pathway to your farm.

Click the arrow on each tool’s row to upgrade it by one level, and you’ll receive your newly enhanced tool.

• Upgrading your Axe and Pickaxe increases the damage dealt to harvestable materials and boosts your chances of getting rare drops.
• For the Fishing Rod, upgrades improve the speed of your rod movement and make it easier to reel in fish, along with increasing the likelihood of finding rarer fish, and speeding up your catch rate.
• With the Whip, you’ll improve the damage done to enemies and the drop rate of monster materials.
• Upgrading the Hoe increases the number of Earth Spirits you collect.
