The Demons of Trosky is a quest that kicks off at Trosky Castle in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Your main goal is to investigate three non-player characters (NPCs) and eliminate the demons haunting the castle. This quest becomes available after finishing the For Whom the Bell Tolls mission, but be careful—starting any main storyline or side quests before or during this can cause issues.
Once you complete the quest, you’ll earn survival and vitality experience points along with some Groschen. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough on how to resolve common bugs and successfully complete the quest.
How to Unlock the Quest
You’ll find Chamberlain Ulrich in the dining hall or wandering outdoors. Talk to him and request work; he’ll share information about the demons. He might offer Holy Water or Magic Water—you can choose either as your primary potion to progress.
Speak with Manyeta
Ulrich will give you the names of three witnesses to investigate for your next objective. Manyeta is found near the stove in the castle’s kitchen. After speaking with her, you’ll need to pour water into five fireplaces located throughout the castle.
Locating the Fireplaces
The first fireplace is near the southwest corner of the castle’s fireplace, just above the bathhouse. Look on the counter to the right of the stove.
The second is in the dining room—exit the kitchen, go up the stairs, and then turn left near the table.
For the third fireplace, ascend three stairs up to the Scribe’s room, located on the upper level of the castle.
The fourth fireplace is upstairs, inside a room accessible by going up more stairs—it’s near the room’s entrance.
The final fireplace can be found in the tower on the Maiden’s side of the castle—head up from the lower floors, check in the storage room, and locate the fireplace near a door on the right of the green door.
Interview Bertha
Bertha is located in the southwestern kitchen corner. She requests you to exorcise five fireplaces on the Maiden’s side using water. Start at the lower kitchen, near the stove, then go upstairs through a storage room to find another fireplace. Continue through the upstairs rooms, heading to the north and east, to find the remaining fireplaces.
Speak with Blacksmith Osina
Osina can often be found outside near benches or in the smithy. He asks you to pour water into the latrine. Afterward, head to the lower guardhouse, inspect the toilet openings by pressing the A button, and then go back to Osina.
Inspecting the Tower
Osina will instruct you to investigate towers on different castle sides. Go to the Maiden’s tower, inspect the toilet opening on the top floor, and then proceed to the Crone’s tower, following similar steps. You’ll find a drain opening near a broken wooden frame—interact with it to gather clues and then report back to Osina, who will reveal he was pranking you.
Returning to Ulrich
Bring your findings back to Chamberlain Ulrich to close the quest. Rewards include 55 Groschens, a Golden Cup, and a Golden Chalice.
Fixing the “Demons of Trosky” Bug

- Press the tilde (~) key to open the console.
- Enter
goto 2445 2624 218.94
and press Enter to reach the bugged room. - To exit, type
goto 2445 2618 218.94
and press Enter. If that doesn’t work, try2450.13 2621.89 219.11

Alternatively, reload a saved game from a prior point in the “Back in the Saddle” mission and continue from there.
This approach should help you navigate the quest and fix common bugs seamlessly.
