A lot of the primary quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 begin simply but quickly grow in complexity. The Via Argentum quest kicks off with interactions with NPCs and evidence gathering, but soon enough, you find yourself sneaking through tunnels and facing groups of guards.
Your search for evidence against Vavak leads you to hunt down a hidden mint. You suspect Vavak and Buresh are involved in counterfeiting coins, and it’s crucial to discover their operation. However, locating the mint and gathering evidence is quite challenging.
Location of the Secret Mint
Your first objective is to find the secret mint. Although you’re given a rough area to explore, the mint is concealed underground.
Make your way to the area and follow the road past some old wooden buildings. Then, venture into the trees on your right until you find some clearings. You should spot a hole with a ladder leading down. Take the ladder (along with a couple more) down to reach the secret bunker housing the mint.
What Bribe to Request
Upon entering, you’ll encounter Buresh. After discussing, he will offer you a bribe to go away. If you refuse, you’ll engage in combat with him and the guards in the bunker.
Accepting the bribe does not mean you must leave them alone. You can take the bribe and still choose to confront them afterwards.
If you decide to accept his offer, make sure you ask for the right amount. You don’t want to undervalue your worth or tick Buresh off. When given the chance, request a large bribe of 475 Groschen. Once accepted, the conversation will finish, and Buresh will deny you any evidence against Vavak.
How to Obtain Evidence Against Vavak
After accepting the bribe, wait for Buresh to walk away alone. He’ll head toward the bunker’s entrance, so follow him quietly.
Once you’re in a safe spot, you can either knock him out or eliminate him. Be cautious, as you want to avoid alerting the other guards. Once he’s dealt with, move his body to a discreet location. Loot his body for the following items:
- Letter from Buresh
- Letter from Vavak
- Records Chest Key
Make sure to collect all the evidence, as it will make the next phase of the quest much easier.
Next, wait until nighttime, when the other guards will be asleep. Go to their main room and take the set of keys from the table. These keys open a door in a nearby corridor.
Inside, you’ll discover the actual secret mint room, where the coins are being produced. Despite your attempts to coax them into leaving, they’re not interested.
In this room, there are several chests to loot, including one that can be opened using Buresh’s key.
In the chest, you’ll discover the secret mint ledgers, which are exactly what you need to prove Vavak’s involvement. After that, feel free to take whatever you can from the chests and exit the area, but try not to get caught on your way out.
