After finishing a long quest, The Italian Job, in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the subsequent quest won’t take as long. However, depending on your choice, it could get quite lengthy since you may have to battle a very tough opponent.
The Civitas Pragensis quest presents a significant choice regarding whether to face Erik in a duel. You can choose to fight or walk away. In this guide, we will explain how to navigate the quest smoothly and what the most favorable outcome is.
How to Complete the Civitas Pragensis Quest
This quest kicks off right after you wrap up The Italian Job. Zizka will arrive with news of Sigismund’s retreat. Make sure to explore all dialogue options, and then it’s time to say farewell to Rosa Ruthard. Head to the location indicated on your map to speak with her.
If you pursued a romantic relationship with her during the Oratores quest, she will give you a kiss goodbye. Soon after, a cutscene will show Kubyenka returning, who was thought to be dead. Upon his arrival, have a chat with him, and he will inform you that Erik has a message for Henry.
Erik wishes to challenge you to a duel. You can either take on the challenge or decline. We suggest accepting for a richer experience, though be warned, this fight is the toughest yet. If you prefer to skip it, that’s perfectly fine too.
Should You Fight Erik?
The choice is entirely yours. Characters around you may advise against fighting, but ultimately, it’s your call. If you decide not to duel, the quest concludes. However, if you choose to fight, speak with Zizka first to inform him of your decision. Then, approach the guard, and a cutscene will unfold.
Once the cutscene ends, be prepared for a skill check. Remember Zizka’s advice: provoke and then attack Erik. Erik is fierce; he may appear nearly unbeatable at first, but victory is possible.
Patience is key in this battle. Erik can counter a lot of your moves. When he charges at you, it’s a good opportunity to strike. Since he has excellent gear, your attacks may not always land significant damage initially. But after a consistent effort, you’ll start to chip away at his health and ultimately triumph over him.
Once you defeat him, a cutscene will follow, leading into the next quest.
