Joining a Faction in New World: Your Guide to Aeternum

Starting at level 17 in New World: Aeternum, players can get involved with factions. You’ll reach this milestone as you progress through the main storyline. Once you reach level 17, you’ll notice three faction symbols in Everfall. You can choose to complete all faction quests or simply select your preferred faction. To join, just complete a quick quest that will grant you access to the faction board.

Participating in a faction is essential in New World: Aeternum, as it provides access to specific faction quests, gear, and the chance to join a company for PvP events in the game.

Where to Join Factions

Faction quests become available in Everfall once you hit level 17. The flags representing the Syndicate, Covenant, and Marauders will appear, marking the three factions you can choose from.

To kick off your faction questline, visit one of the flags. Each faction’s quests will be found at their respective outposts. You’re free to try out quests for all three factions before officially committing to one.

Which Faction Should You Choose in New World?

In reality, the differentiation among the three factions is minimal. Your choice is likely to depend more on the server population, whether friends are playing alongside you, or if you have a specific company in mind that you wish to join.

Be aware that once you’ve selected a faction, you cannot change it for 30 days, so make your choice carefully!

However, it’s highly encouraged to align yourself with a faction. The rewards available around level 20 can be obtained by completing just one faction quest that is boosted for daily rewards.

These rewards allow you to buy an excellent set of armor and weapons that will significantly outperform loot found through regular gameplay at that stage.

All faction armor comes with Constitution as its primary stat, which may not align with your character build. To alter the main stat of a faction armor piece, you can purchase a seal from the faction store. For instance, a Scholar seal will change the piece to provide Intelligence when crafted at the outfitting station.

Factions play a vital role throughout your journey in the game, offering you access to faction PvP activities, company wars, and valuable rewards as you progress, including gear, equipment, material chests, and gold.
