In Schedule 1, you probably noticed that potential clients tend to have better results when the strain you offer aligns with their preferred effects. Some of these desired effects do have unusual names, like Cyclopean and Zombifying, which makes you curious about what they actually entail.

Beyond simply letting customers experience these effects and observing their reactions, you could also try them out for yourself. Understanding how your product affects users can help you avoid serious errors that might arise from selling just any strain. In fact, it could even prevent you from potentially causing harm to someone.

Characteristics of Each Effect

Understanding Impact and Duration

Creating a new strain can be thrilling, but it also has its risks. Just because a strain features a couple of effects that a customer enjoys doesn’t mean they will necessarily appreciate it, as the presence of other conflicting effects could muddle their experience. The impact of a strain can be erratic, especially if it combines multiple effects.

When multiple effects are present in a single bud, you will feel all the effects simultaneously. While you might know how to incorporate various effects, experiencing them firsthand can be an interesting adventure. A common side effect of many strains, regardless of their primary effects, is bloodshot eyes, although not every effect will lead to this. The duration of each effect varies based on several factors, including the specific effects combined within a strain. If you’re prone to motion sickness, you might want to steer clear of certain effects.

Laxative	Whoever ingests it may experience frequent bowel movements, though it might not be noticeable to your character.	Three minutes in real-time.
Long-Faced	Your head and neck will grow larger.	Under three minutes in real-time.
Munchies	No significant noticeable effect.	Around three minutes
Paranoia	Causes a negative high, marked by a frown. Everything seems to move in slow motion. NPCs might appear to watch you from further away.	Under two minutes
Refreshing	No noticeable changes in your character.	Around two minutes
Schizophrenic	The screen shakes, becoming unstable. Your facial expression appears worried, with an open mouth frown.	About three minutes

Police Reactions to Your Effects

Understanding the Risk of Arrest with Visible Effects

The type of effect you are experiencing can influence how law enforcement reacts. There’s a significant chance that certain effects will prompt police to stop and search you. It seems that these searches have become more common, and after experiencing a strain with a clear effect, officers may give you a distinct look while you’re out on the street.

If the police notice your effects, you have three choices: flee and try to escape, fight back and risk injury, or submit to their authority. If they detain you in Schedule 1, they will seize any illegal substances you possess.
