As the story unfolds in Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, you’ll have the chance to take part in races against your allies among the Reclaimers. The tracks and vehicles vary, so some races may be easier than others. They’re a fun way to take a break from combat and earn extra credits.
Like everything else in Titanic Scion, your race performance depends a lot on how you set up your Arsenal. Speed is important, but it’s not the only thing that matters. If you’re struggling to win, try these tips.
Best Build for Flying Races
To succeed in flying races, focus on increasing your Aerial Speed, mainly determined by your cuirass. Equip a helmet with high Stamina Efficiency and add passive skills that boost your maximum Stamina if available.
Before starting a race, eating a scoop of strawberry ice cream can give you a percentage-based boost to your Aerial Speed. The higher your armor’s base stats, the more benefit you’ll get from this buff.
Finally, add either a Booster (like Atalanta) or a Cooling System to your auxiliary mount. These help you maintain maximum speed longer. Also, if you have attachments that improve Aerial Speed or Stamina Recovery, equip those.
Flying Race Strategy
You want to keep boosting your Arsenal for as long as possible. Let your boost run out, recharge, then boost again—your Stamina Efficiency and Recovery make this easier. Opponents can often boost continuously, ignoring stamina limits, which might let them pull ahead. Don’t worry about that. Focus on flying through every ring on the course. Missing rings adds a five-second penalty per missed ring, which can cost your opponent dearly. Get through the rings consistently, stay reasonably fast, and you can win even if you cross the finish line second.
Best Build for Motorcycle Races
Motorcycle races follow a more traditional style. It’s crucial to hit all the rings to avoid penalties, but staying ahead of your opponent is key. You need to stay on the course and avoid crashing.
You can’t modify your bike directly, but your Arsenal setup can influence performance. For these races, gear your Arsenal to be as heavy as possible. Choose midweight or heavyweight armor, ideally a WS-variant cuirass that provides access to the Wing Particle Booster. Heavy gear helps your bike grip the terrain better—light armor often causes you to go flying over bumps. A heavier Arsenal also means if you get thrown off the bike, you’ll have less distance to travel to get back on.
Using the Wing Booster consumes a lot of Femto, but since you’re usually only using it during races, that’s fine. Be cautious where you deploy it; it’s easy to lose control. It’s best to use it near the end of the race to catch up or extend your lead.
Race Start Tip
Don’t hit the gas until you see the signal to start. Pressing it too early means you’ll have to release and press again, losing precious time.
