There are many side quests in Titan Quest 2, but they aren’t always clear about what to do when you find one. Instead of giving you step-by-step directions, the game generally hints at what you should do, leaving the rest up to you.
Early in Titan Quest 2, you’ll come across a strange, talking jar. You can ignore it, but if you pick it up, it will start what’s likely your first side quest. Completing this quest will earn you a good piece of loot.
Where to find the talking jar
While traveling west toward the Gryphon, you’ll meet a trader named Maro. Just south of him, there will be a wolf running east. Follow that wolf, and you’ll come across a group of wolves surrounding a dead body. After defeating the wolves, interact with the corpse to find the talking jar. The jar will tell you to visit the shrine of Hermes, which is in a nearby cave to the southwest.
How to find the shrine of Hermes
The shrine of Hermes is not far away. From where you find the jar, head southwest as instructed. There’s a cave full of wolves southwest of that spot, which loops back to your starting point. Feel free to clear out this cave if you want, but then go back to the spot where you first saw the wolves and continue heading southwest.
Head south of the wooden bridge
As you travel south of a wooden bridge extending northward, you’ll see a fork in the road. Take the south path, then keep heading west until you reach a beached fishing boat. From there, proceed to the nearby cave known as Widow’s Cave.
Enter the Widow’s Cave
When you go into this cave, the talking jar will confirm it’s the right place. Inside, you’ll face a number of spiders as you move westward. Eventually, you’ll see a pedestal bathed in sunlight. Place the talking jar on this pedestal, and you’ll receive a good reward for your efforts.
