Semiwork has added a new, chaotic, and sometimes frightening feature to the unique physics-based horror game, Repo. The game’s large Monster Update was released just in time for Halloween and brought along new items, monsters, and changes to how your semibot behaves.
For many players, the new monsters are the main focus of this update. But quietly, a new feature called “Death Head Possession” has been introduced, giving your semibot a new way to interact with haunted levels and your teammates who are still vulnerable to lurking enemies. Here’s what you should know about controlling your own Death Head.
What Is Death Head Possession?
When you die in Repo, and your teammates are still alive, you’re left as just a lone head. You can’t move, talk, or signal your teammates unless they have the Map Player Count Upgrade, which shows how many semibots are still alive. Without it, no one will know you’ve died or where your head is waiting for collection.
Now, you can make yourself useful—or annoying—while waiting to be revived. You can use your semibot head to move toward the truck, distract monsters, help locate the next extraction point, or prepare yourself to come back to life. Additionally, you can use proximity chat to communicate with your team more easily.
How to Use Death Head Possession
After dying, your head needs some time to recharge before you can use it again. Until your semibot’s avatar opens its eyes, you’ll observe your teammates normally. When ready, pressing ‘E’ allows you to possess your head, giving you control. You can switch back to normal spectating the same way.
To move as your death head, hold and release the spacebar. This makes your head hop around, but only for a limited time. The initial charge of your head doesn’t last long, so you’ll often find yourself waiting for it to recharge. If timed well, this can become a helpful tactic.
Tip: If controlling your death head is fun for you, consider upgrading the Battery at the Service Station. This upgrade increases how long you can keep your head active, although the recharge time remains the same.
