Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 reintroduces perks that stay active for the duration of a match. Unlike Black Ops 2, where perks could be carried over between games, in Black Ops 7 perks only last while you’re in the current game. However, if you get downed, you won’t lose these perks, which makes a big difference, especially during the Easter Egg quests. Having quick access to perks like Quick Revive, along with a few self-revive kits, gives you more chances to survive without wasting too many resources.
Unlocking permanent perks is fairly straightforward, though it takes some time. Many legendary rewards are almost always linked to a mystery perk, and if you already have all the perks unlocked, you’ll receive a permanent perk instead. Each mystery perk equals one permanent perk, meaning you’ll need to complete several TEDD Tasks to unlock all of them. Permanent perks stay active even if you get knocked down, but they are lost if the game ends.
Sometimes, multiple mystery perks can appear from a single legendary reward. If not, you’ll need to wait about four to six rounds for a new TEDD Task to spawn if you’re aiming for more permanent perks. These perks are especially helpful for the Easter Egg, as dying during the final boss fight and losing perks can ruin your progress. However, if you’re focusing on completing the main quest, it’s best not to spend too much time trying to gather permanent perks, since it’s smarter to face the boss early and avoid high-round difficulties that come with extra perks.
