You can now get Mega Garchomp Z in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but there are a few steps you need to complete before you can use this creature in the game. Mega Garchomp Z is a new form for the popular pseudo-legendary Pokémon from Generation 4. Although it was announced some time ago, it wasn’t available until now. This new Mega Evolution is part of the recent DLC called Mega Dimension in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
Most of the new Mega Evolutions introduced with the DLC were released right when the Mega Dimension arrived for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. However, Nintendo decided to delay Mega Garchomp Z’s release. Players could find other new creatures like Mega Lucario Z or Mega Magearna earlier, but now the Mega Garchomp Z form for one of the franchise’s most loved pseudo-legendary Pokémon is finally accessible.
Where to Find the Garchompite Z Mega Stone
You’ll need to complete a special battle in Pokémon Legends: Z-A to get the Garchompite Z Mega Stone. This battle takes place in a hyperspace distortion. To start, you need to claim a Mystery Gift, which will trigger an encounter with Mega Garchomp Z. Defeating Mega Garchomp Z in this battle will earn you the Garchompite Z Mega Stone. After obtaining it, just equip your Garchomp with the Garchompite Z and gather enough Mega Energy to transform it into Mega Garchomp Z. Keep in mind that if your Garchomp is holding Garchompite Z, it can’t hold the regular Garchompite in this game.
How to Get Garchomp
The best way to get Garchomp is by training a Gible. You can find Gible in Wild Zone 8 in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which becomes available right after completing Main Mission 10. Once you catch a Gible, train it until it reaches level 24, at which point it can evolve into Gabite. Then, level up Gabite to level 48 to evolve into Garchomp.
Getting Garchomp is relatively easy if you’ve made good progress in the game or the DLC. However, fighting Mega Garchomp Z to get the Garchompite Z is likely to be challenging, as it’s part of the process to unlock the new Mega Garchomp Z form in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
