Pokémon Legends: Z-A introduced Mega Dragalge as a new Mega Evolution in the ninth generation. Getting it is pretty straightforward, but it does require you to progress further in the story. Mega Dragalge keeps its Poison and Dragon types and gets a big boost in its stats, making it a powerful option in battles. Its design also changes, making it larger and more impressive.
Some Mega Evolutions can be tricky to unlock because they require completing certain story points or side quests. For example, Mega Lucario needs you to find a Riolu and build up your friendship level to make it evolve. In contrast, Mega Dragalge is much easier to obtain, though you might need to search for Skrelp in the right spot.
Where to Find Skrelp in Pokémon Legends: Z-A (Skrelp Location)
You can find Skrelp in a hidden area, not in the regular wild zones. Once you reach Main Mission 19 and start tracking down Ivor’s missing sister, Gwynn, in the Lumiose Sewers, you’ll have access to this small, special area. Additional parts of the Sewers open up after completing Side Mission 057.
The Sewers are located near the Pokémon Center in Magenta Sector 8, near the Saison Canal. You’ll find multiple Skrelp inside these Sewers—this is the only place where you can catch them. Depending on your progress in the game, you might also encounter Skrelp’s Alpha version in these Sewers.
Skrelp itself isn’t aggressive normally, so you can approach it without worry, and it won’t run away. But the Alpha Skrelp will attack you right away. After catching Skrelp, you’ll need to train it up to level 48 to evolve it into Dragalge.
How to Get Dragalgite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A
The Mega Stone for Dragalge, called Dragalgite, can be purchased after completing Main Mission 30. You can buy Dragalgite for 240 Mega Shards from Quasartico Inc., and it will appear in their catalog at that point. After you have the stone, give it to Dragalge to prepare for Mega Evolution.
Once you have enough Mega Energy, you’ll be able to activate Mega Dragalge, both in battles and outside of them. Its Poison-type moves can be especially helpful against Fairy and Grass types in the game.
