In Mafia: The Old Country, the setting is early 20th-century Sicily. Unlike many movies that show gangsters wielding Tommy guns, this game focuses on a more personal and intense fighting style. Most combat involves knives, making encounters feel closer and more dramatic.
You’ll find a variety of knives, each with unique combat perks. Choosing the right knife can boost your effectiveness in fights, helping Enzo move through the story faster and more aggressively.
Knife Basics, Explained
Knives are your primary melee weapon during the game. Besides fighting with them, you can also use knives to open chests in the environment; however, this decreases their durability.
There are three types of knives to pick from: Scannaturi, Rasolu, and Stiletto. Each type offers different strengths, weaknesses, and perks that provide additional gameplay effects. All knives are either found or purchased from the weapon locker using Dinari, except for those bought through downloadable content (DLC).
Note: DLC knives become available for use after reaching Chapter 2.
