Starting with Ashes of Creation, it’s common to feel overwhelmed when you first begin playing this MMO. After choosing your server, you’ll go through several screens where you customize your character’s appearance and decide on your play style, all at your own pace.

As part of the main wisdom path questline, you’ll speak with Loretta Briarmoor at Briarmoor Farms. She will direct you to talk to Workhand Nobles, who will give you the main tasks for this quest.
Your first task is to gather at least five herbs from flowers spread across the game world. By this point, you’ll have received a sickle, which you can equip from your backpack. Use the sickle to harvest small patches of white or yellow flowers you find around the area north of where you spoke to Nobles.
Important tip: If another player recently gathered from these flowers, they might not be available for you to harvest.
To gather, simply interact with these flower patches when you’re nearby. Each interaction yields three herbs. Only scattered patches of white and yellow flowers can be harvested at this stage. Collect a minimum of five herbs to complete this part of the quest, but it’s a good idea to gather more materials than necessary. Alternatively, you can chop some wood, which will be useful for selling later on in this quest.
How to Purchase Drawtwine Wax and Packwright’s Universal Strap Set
After collecting herbs, you’ll need to craft a Simple Rucksack, which involves visiting a Textile Mill. To find it, open your map and look for a silver icon south of Briarmoor Farms. Hovering over the icon will reveal the Textile Mill location.
At the mill, find the Textile Vendor and talk to him. You’ll see the items he sells, which you’ll need some extra in-game currency to buy. Navigate to the materials tab within his inventory, then search for Drawtwine Wax and Packwright’s Universal Strap Set to purchase them.
If you don’t have enough money, you can sell other items in your inventory from the same screen, except for the five herbs needed for the quest.
How to Make Coarse Thread and the Simple Rucksack
Once you have all the materials, the next step is to craft the Coarse Thread and the Simple Rucksack. Head over to the Weaving machine located at the Textile Mill.
To craft the Coarse Thread, select it at the machine, then craft five units using both Drawtwine Wax and the herbs you collected. This process will cost some in-game money.
Afterward, go to the Tailoring station and choose a Simple Rucksack from the Bag dropdown menu. The rucksack will be crafted quickly once you supply all the required items. Finally, speak to Nobles again to complete the quest. He won’t take the bag from you, so you can equip it directly through the materials section of your inventory.
