Defeating the Staglord keeps your progress moving toward earning The Great Thief’s Gloves. After taking down the Staglord, complete the House Alphonse storyline to move on to Hooves Through The Wind. Completing this race with the noble unlocks the Secret of the Lost Seal questline.

Enter the iron gate, gather the clues, and return the seal to Marquis Serkis back in Hernand.
