Life as a Farmer in Pelican Town

In Pelican Town, vibrant life unfolds as you immerse yourself in the world of farming, fishing, mining, and building connections with the locals. The changing seasons keep your daily routine fresh, introducing various festivals and hidden surprises.

Winter’s Arrival and the Feast of the Winter Star

One of the most magical seasons is winter, when a soft blanket of snow covers the town. Along with the frosty air comes a series of festive happenings, including the Feast of the Winter Star, during which residents exchange gifts. This celebration also contains a special mystery—uncovering it may lead to a visit from Santa.

When Does Santa Arrive?

Mark your calendars for the night of Winter 24. On this eve, you’ll see Santa soaring over the sales menu that pops up at the end of the day. To ensure you receive gifts from Santa, be sure to follow certain steps before this date. If you forget and let the day pass, Santa won’t be around come the 25th, so set out the treats in advance if you’re likely to forget.

Preparing for Santa’s Visit

Since this special night is just before the Feast of the Winter Star, it’s hard to overlook. To get a visit from Santa, you simply need to prepare a snack for him. The update in version 1.6 introduced this delightful feature, allowing Santa to drop by your farm if you entice him with a tasty treat.

Setting Out the Snacks

You can choose to leave out milk or a cookie for Santa—either will do. Remember, you’ll need a dining or end table to place them on. Consider leaving both snacks out for an extra surprise! Place them on the table on the nights leading up to the Feast of the Winter Star.

Tips on Snacks for Santa

While you can only place one item per table, having two tables lets you leave both treats. Keep in mind that any additional snacks won’t be collected by Santa and will simply stay put for the next day.

How to Get Milk and Cookies

You can gather milk easily from your cows, and if you don’t have any yet, it won’t be long before you do. Cookies, however, require a bit more effort—they can be procured by becoming friends with Evelyn. Once you reach a four-heart friendship, she’ll send you a cookie recipe that you can make using ingredients you can buy from Pierre’s shop.

What Gifts Does Santa Leave?

After the Feast of the Winter Star, check on the snack you left out. Santa may reward you with a Mystery Box in exchange for each treat. Keep in mind that you can only get two Mystery Boxes each year—one for the milk and one for the cookies.

Understanding Mystery Boxes

Mystery Boxes are similar to geodes and need to be cracked open by Clint. These boxes can contain a variety of items such as seeds, saplings, warp totems, and even books. There’s also a chance to find additional Mystery Boxes inside!

After completing the special order known as Cave Patrol, you can learn how to create your own Geode Crusher, enabling you to process your own items without needing to visit Clint.

Embrace the magic of winter in Stardew Valley, connect with your farming community, and enjoy the festive spirit that comes alive in Pelican Town!
