A key part of Pathologic 3 is making different choices—either to change Daniil Dankovsky’s actions to stop him from being arrested on Day 5 or to influence other characters’ decisions. These choices often lead to better outcomes, even saving some people from death.
One of the first major characters you can help save is Bad Grief, who is the leader of the town’s criminal underworld. If you act quickly, you can prevent his death and turn him into an uneasy ally and trader. But convincing him requires skill and careful conversation.
### How to Save Bad Grief on Day 4
Bad Grief is hiding in his base in the Warehouses district. On Day 4, you can find him there, but two bandits are waiting outside, believing he is responsible for killing Simon Kain.
Your options in the conversation vary. You could choose violence and shoot the bandits, which will save Bad Grief but will hurt your character and use up resources. Alternatively, you can try to talk your way out.
To do this, you’ll want to:
– Ask the bandits why they suspect Bad Grief.
– Discuss Simon Kain’s past acts of forgiveness.
– Persuade them that they can’t be certain about their suspicions and remind them of Simon’s kindness in similar situations.
Getting the bandits to doubt their claims and trust your reasoning will cause them to leave Bad Grief alone. Afterward, you can enter his base, speak with his assistants, and confirm that you’ve saved him from an untimely death.
