Alvida is one of the first friendly faces you’ll meet after the difficult beginning of GreedFall: The Dying World. As a member of the Nauts, she feels responsible for what happened to you and Nílan, and she travels with you to make amends on behalf of her people.
What begins as simple duty can turn into a friendship—or even something more—if you’re interested. Here’s how to build your approval with Alvida and maybe even start a romance in GreedFall: The Dying World.
Alvida’s Personality
Alvida is kind, loyal, and romantic. She cares deeply for her Nauts family and believes they can improve, especially compared to the example they set when you were taken from Teer Fradee.
She appreciates dialogue options that show you share these feelings or understand what it’s like to come from a large, close-knit culture. She also approves of doing the right thing and defending those in need, just as she did with you.
Approval Changes During Side Quests
Like most companions, Alvida has side quests that help grow her story. Completing these quests will boost your approval, regardless of your choices, but to maximize approval, consider these options:
First Companion Quest:
- Ask the guards about their special operation to catch Alma.
- Attack the guards when they try to arrest Alma.
- Let Alvida decide what to do with her father’s bodyguard.
Second Companion Quest:
- Blame Alvida’s father for what happened during her mother’s mission.
Third Companion Quest:
- When asked how you know about a secret Naut contract, say it concerns a friend.
- When sneaking through the library, avoid attacking any Nauts, even stealthily.
Note: Whether her father resigns from the Nauts does not affect your approval, nor is it necessary to start a romance with her.
Relationship Conversations
Regularly check in with Alvida to see if she has new things to say. Sometimes, you will see a love heart icon, indicating opportunities to deepen your relationship through dialogue choices. Choosing the right responses will increase her approval or affection.
First Conversation:
Right after the prison break, Alvida shares her feelings about the Nauts. Showing that your village is similar to her Nauts will give the highest approval boost.
Second Conversation:
Once she gets her own ship, talk about how it feels. Sharing a bittersweet memory of your own helps show understanding.
Third Conversation:
This is about how Nauts view romantic relationships. She explains some stay loyal while others take lovers during long sea voyages. Tell her that you would stay loyal and spend every moment possible with your partner.
Fourth Conversation:
You’ll discuss her feelings about her new ship. This talk becomes available after returning to the continent from Teer Fradee. Assure her that you will see her again, even if you leave her home.
Fifth Conversation:
This involves your use of earth magic as a doneigad. She doubts her ability to help you understand the sea, but trust her instincts and share your own mixed feelings about the journey.
Romance
Alvida’s romance begins early. The earliest moment is even before you leave for Teer Fradee. Once you have enough approval—and if you’re not involved with someone else—Alvida will confess she has feelings for you. Invite her to spend the night in your cabin, and the romance will be underway.
You can break off the relationship anytime before the final quest. After reaching the point of no return, her feelings are locked in and will affect the ending. Once the romance is active, regular conversations and acceptance of her feelings help strengthen the relationship.
