The Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC introduces donuts—delicious treats that you can feed Hoopa to gain levels and boost your efficiency in Hyperspace Lumiose. However, the quality of donuts you can produce changes quickly during the main Hyperspace Missions. If you’re not careful, you’ll quickly find yourself with a surplus of lower-quality sweets.

While these basic donuts might seem like a waste once you’re able to make better ones using multiple berries, there’s an effective way to recycle these unwanted donuts.

### How to Start Our Gluttonous Gulpin

First, you need to progress through the main Hyperspace Missions until you reach the sixth one: Hyperspace Lumiose Survey No. 3. To unlock this, you must enter several Hyperspace Holes and fulfill Corbeau’s research tasks by maximizing your points twice, which triggers the mission.

After completing the tasks and watching the cutscene, you’ll get a new quest and be introduced to a new friend: Gulpin.

### How to Recycle Your Donuts with Gulpin

The tricky part is finding a donut that you’re willing to feed Gulpin, especially if you have plenty of extras. If you’ve been baking many donuts, you probably have some lower-tier sweets that aren’t very useful later in the game.

The best donuts to feed Gulpin are those that have at least one of these traits:
– Flavor rating of one star
– No extra effects
– Increase Pokémon levels by only single digits
– Require four or fewer berries to make

Donuts with these qualities are safe to give to Gulpin without missing out on anything valuable.

Once you pick a donut, feeding it to Gulpin completes the Our Gluttonous Gulpin quest. This rewards you with:
– One Charti Berry
– Ten Pokédollars

However, avoid giving Gulpin donuts made with Hyper Berries, as you’ll only get regular berries back, which wastes your Hyper Berry resources.

### How Gulpin Recycles Donuts

The main challenge is finding a donut you don’t need anymore. If you have a surplus of lower-level donuts, Gulpin is a perfect way to recycle them and get berries in return. Usually, the first donut fed to Gulpin will always give you a Charti Berry, which reduces the damage of super-effective Rock moves. After that, the berries you receive are random and are not determined by the donut you feed Gulpin. Additionally, you’ll earn 100 PokéDollars per donation.
