How to Recover Dora's Lost Memories in Hades 2 by Completing and Solving

The first friendly face you encounter in Hades 2 is a shade named Dora. Playful yet loyal, she is a faithful companion to Melinoe, helping with tasks around the Crossroads to support the young Underworld princess in her quest to overthrow the God of Time.

However, Melinoe doesn’t know much about Dora’s true motives or past. Memories are lost to her, making it hard to understand her real intentions. When Melinoe faces Prometheus, the Titan of Foresight, and uncovers the truth about Dora’s history, she’s willing to go to great lengths to uncover her friend’s hidden past. But will revealing these secrets be worth the risks?

How to Find the Haunted By the Past Prophecy

To unlock this prophecy, you need to interact with Dora regularly and advance her story. There are two key steps that must be completed three times:

Fight Prometheus.
Talk to Dora.

This includes the first time you defeating Prometheus and tell Dora about it. Once Dora mentions that Melinoe has a spell to refresh her memory, you can officially start the “Haunted By The Past” prophecy and receive the special incantation called Return of Latent Memories.

Note: You don’t need a strong bond with Dora to start or progress in this quest, but it’s recommended to keep talking to her and strengthening your relationship whenever possible.

How to Return Dora’s Memories

The recall spell, Return of Latent Memories, is brewed at the cauldron in the middle of the Crossroads. The ingredients required are:

4 Cattails (found in Oceanus and grown in your garden)
2 Tears (dropped by Cerberus in the Fields of Mourning)
2 Darkness (collected in Chaos’s realm)

Usually, running a few expeditions into Tartarus will help gather these items naturally. If you’re having trouble sourcing enough Cattails, you can bring Hecuba, your familiar, to Oceanus to help.

Tip: Cattails are often found in Narcissus’s room, and he sometimes offers a Mystery Seed, which can grow into one.

Once you cast the spell, Dora will vanish from the Crossroads for one night. During this period, any services she offers for decorations won’t be available, so plan your tasks accordingly.

After her disappearance, complete a single run down any path, regardless of the outcome. Whether you win or lose doesn’t matter here — it’s just part of the process.

Final Interaction after Dora’s Disappearance

When you return to the Crossroads, you’ll see Dora in her ghostly form in the corner of the tent. Talk to her, and she will confess to doing something terrible. Finishing her dialogue marks the end of the prophecy, but Dora’s story isn’t over yet.

After you claim the 2 Nightmares from the Fated List as a reward, you can continue exploring her background. Keep talking to Dora after each run, giving her Nectar or Ambrosia when needed. There are five more interactions possible, which will help complete her story and allow you to deepen your relationship with her.
