- How To Increase Digimon Bond
In Digimon Story: Time Stranger, your Digimon have more personality than ever before. As you gain experience with them, you’ll become closer, which increases their Bond level. This important stat affects how you develop your Digimon.
While Bond may seem straightforward at first, there are some details to learn. Below is everything you need to know about raising your Digimon’s Bond, including what it does and the best ways to improve it.
What Does Bond Do?
Besides showing how much your Digimon likes you, Bond also controls how many times your Digimon can transfer its accumulated stats when Digivolving or De-Digivolving. Every time a Digimon evolves, it carries over a certain percentage of its stats to the next form. The higher the Bond, the more times this can happen, allowing your Digimon to have higher maximum stats.
Each percentage point of Bond equals one Digivolution that can transfer cumulative stats. For example, if your Bond with Agumon is 20%, it can carry over stats through Digivolution or De-Digivolution 20 times. Beyond that, the stats won’t increase unless you raise your Bond.
Bond isn’t lost during any type of evolution, so you can evolve and de-evolve your Digimon as often as you want without losing it.
How To Increase Digimon Bond
There are three main ways to boost your Digimon’s Bond:
-
Battling with them – After a certain number of battles, your Digimon’s Bond will increase by 1. You’ll likely do this naturally as part of the game, but it can be slow if battling is your only method.

Talking to your Digimon – After battles or through the Digiline, you can chat with your Digimon. Each interaction slightly raises Bond. However, this method is slower because there’s a cooldown on these interactions.
-
Feeding them at the Digifarm – The best method is to feed your Digimon different types of food available at the Digifarm. There are six kinds of Digi food, and each Digimon has preferences and dislikes, which may depend on its species and Personality.
The amount of Bond gained from food depends on how much your Digimon likes it. Here’s what you can expect:
- Ellipses: Bond increases by 0-1%
- Music Notes: Bond increases by 1-2%
- Heart: Bond increases by 2-3%
To maximize Bond gain, find out which food your Digimon prefers and feed them a lot of it. You can purchase food from various vendors, but the easiest place is the In-Between Theater, located right across from the Digifarm.
You can also boost Bond by giving your Digimon Friendship items, which are sometimes rewards for completing side quests.
