Arc Raiders is a game called an extraction shooter, which means it has more complex systems and features than many other shooters. These mechanics are mostly about crafting and progressing, either through loot systems or ranking systems.
The ranking system in Arc Raiders is quite different from typical shooters, especially those not familiar with extraction gameplay. Your rank doesn’t always depend on competitive player-versus-player matches. Instead, it’s based on weekly challenges that are time-limited. You compete against a group of 100 players, trying to score higher by completing these challenges.
Trials in Arc Raiders are weekly challenges shared among players. You’re randomly teamed up with others in a group of 100 to compete for the highest scores. Each week, there are five different Trials, each with its own task, such as Damage Wasps, Destroy Fireballs, Download Data, and other goals. Unlike some games, your progress from previous raids doesn’t carry over. The game records your best raid score for each task, and that becomes your official score.
Your total score in all five Trials adds up to your weekly Rank Points. This score is what you compete with other players to climb the ranks. At the end of the week, the top third of players move up two ranks, the middle third move up once, and the bottom third stay in the same rank.
Rewards are given based on your performance. Each Trial awards a cache for hitting milestone scores — 1000, 2500, and 4000 points — for that specific task. These rewards are individual for each Trial and aren’t used for competition. Additionally, at the week’s close, you get rewards for your overall rank, with more rewards for higher ranks. Every rank increase from Rookie I brings new rewards, so the farther you advance, the more you gain.
To rank up quickly in Trials, focus on maps with special challenge modes like Night Raid or Electromagnetic Storm. These versions are marked with a 2x symbol, indicating they double your score. Playing during these maps can boost your total score significantly. For leveling up and aiming for top rankings, it’s best to load into these challenge maps and gear your loadout to maximize your performance on the specific tasks you’re trying to excel at, adjusting strategies depending on the task at hand.
