Playing My Winter Car isn’t just about fixing cars, driving through a cold town, or doing repetitive tasks. Sometimes, you can interact with non-player characters (NPCs) in interesting ways. One of these is in the form of Ventti, a card game.
If you’re looking to make some quick money or just want to pass the time during the long winter nights, this simple game is easy to learn. Here’s what you need to know about Ventti and how to find it in the game.
Note: The game is in Early Access and has many bugs. I had some frustrating experiences that caused me to lose money and prevent me from playing Ventti further, so remember to save your game before you try it.
Where to Play Ventti
Ventti can be found at the Retirement Home, which is in the same neighborhood where you start the game (located in the northwest part of the map). The building is a bit north of your starting area. To get there, leave your starting location, take the main road going right, pass the church, and at the next fork, you’ll see the back of the building on your right.
Enter the Retirement Home through its main door, then head to the left side of the building. The room just before the last one has an open door. You can only play here between 9 PM and 8 AM, and that’s where you’ll encounter your rival.
Tip: Bring snacks and drinks because you’ll probably spend a good amount of time here and will get hungry. Make sure you are well-rested to avoid fatigue, and try not to go too early, as the other old residents can be quite annoying.
How to Play Ventti
Ventti is basically Blackjack, but with a different name and slight variations. If you’re unfamiliar with the classic card game, you’re playing against a dealer—who appears to be the owner of the Pub Nappo.
You need to bet between 50 and 200 MK each round. Then, ask for cards until you reach 21 or less. If you go over 21 or the dealer is closer to 21 than you, you lose your bet. You win if the dealer busts or you are closer to 21 than them.
Note: Unlike real Blackjack, Kings count as 13, Queens as 12, and Jacks as 11. Also, the Ace only counts as 1 here; in standard Blackjack, it can be 1 or 11.
To place your bet, left-click on the bill on the left side of the screen to add 50 MK each time (right-click to lower your bet). Then, click on the deck on your right to draw two cards. The rival will get only one card. On your turn, you can choose to stay with your current cards (by left-clicking on them) or ask for another card, one at a time.
Important: Don’t bet more than 7,000 MK in one night, as your rival won’t have more money than that.
And that’s about it. Ventti is largely a game of luck, similar to Blackjack. Expert players may try card counting to improve their chances, but most players won’t master that. Playing Ventti can be a good way to earn some MK if you’re lucky, especially when your other jobs aren’t paying enough.
