Mining Iron in Hades 2 works similarly to gathering Silver and Bronze, but collecting it in large amounts on the surface can be quite tough. This is mainly because of how the region is set up. Melinoe usually has to complete two or more Hades 2 battles on a single undead warship, which often doesn’t have any Iron outcroppings. Unfortunately, you can’t skip collecting Iron, since it’s necessary to unlock certain Hades 2 Aspects and cast some spells. So, here’s where you can find Iron and some tips to make your surface runs more efficient.
Where to find Iron in Hades 2:
You can locate Iron outcroppings in the Rift of Thessaly region on the surface. They appear as piles of cannonballs. Use the Crescent Pick to hit these piles three times to get three pieces of Iron. Seems simple enough, right?
The issue is that Iron, along with other resources found in Thessaly like Mandrake seeds and Driftwood, seems pretty rare. It can spawn anywhere in the region, not just on warships, but since you’ll often finish multiple battles on the same ship, your chances of spotting Iron outcroppings by the time you reach Eris can be quite low.
If you really need Iron, consider bringing Raki as your Hades 2 Familiar, if you’ve unlocked him. He’s a white raven who increases the chances of Iron outcroppings appearing, which can also help you gather Bronze in Ephyra. Otherwise, your best shot is to explore as many locations in Thessaly as possible and hope luck is on your side.
