Landing in Pywel unlocks a vast world in Crimson Desert, offering many ways to explore and earn valuable silver. The merchants you come across are stocked with weapons, armor, inventory upgrades, and other loot you’ll want. Keeping a good amount of silver on hand makes buying supplies and upgrading gear much easier, especially when facing tougher enemies. Here are the top methods to quickly earn silver in the game.
Fast Ways to Make Silver
Silver is one of the three main currencies in Crimson Desert and the most commonly used after the first chapters. Silver is used to buy most items, while copper is mainly for simpler goods. Gold bars are rare and mostly bought from banks, used mainly for investments.
| Currency Type | Exchange Rate |
|---|---|
| Copper | — |
| Silver | 100 copper = 1 silver |
| Gold Bars | 500 silver = 1 gold bar |
Copper is for everyday items, and higher-quality goods are priced in silver. Gold bars are typically used for investments and are less common mid-game.
Loot Enemies & Locations
The simplest way to earn fast silver is by looting defeated enemies and discarded items. You can also steal from various locations, especially early in the game, where crime can actually be very profitable.
Loot defeated enemies and cleared sites for quick silver. Stealing and looting during the early game, especially from Hernand’s bank, can fill your pockets quickly. While not as law-abiding as in GTA, robbing Hernand Bank is surprisingly profitable if you’re prepared. Here’s what you need:
- Masks: Loot from bandits or buy from Grimrak (10 copper) in the alley southeast of Hernand’s cathedral.
- Bank key: Purchase from Grimrak for 30 copper.
Steps to rob the Hernand Bank:
- Clear your inventory to make space.
- Save your game before starting.
- Enter through the locked door on the left, then close it behind you.
- Loot the boxes and chests inside.
- Wait for the theft meter to disappear, then leave.
- Check your loot, and if satisfied, enjoy your winnings. Reload your save if not.
As long as you’re not seen stealing, nobody will suspect you, and you won’t get a bounty. You can revisit this spot after three days, but the boxes can only be looted once.
Bounties
Bounties are another excellent way to earn silver. You can find bounty posters in most towns, often on bounty boards. Completing these contracts not only pays well but often involves fighting multiple enemies, giving you chances to loot rare items.
Rewards vary depending on the bounty, so check the details to prioritize high-value contracts. Some bounties will send you into combat, making it a double opportunity to gather loot and earn silver.
Go Mining for Diamonds
In the southeast Hernand Highlands Cavern, near Specter’s Hideout, you’ll find about a dozen diamonds hidden in the rocks, ready to be mined and sold.
Before heading into the mine, make sure you’ve completed the mining tutorial by talking to Rhett, the large vendor outside the Smithy, and obtained a pickaxe.
Inside, loot all the diamonds and stalactites you come across. Each diamond sells for about 2.28 silver, so gathering all of them nets around 25 silver. Collecting the stalactites, which also yield copper, can bring your total earnings close to 40 silver for a single run.
Enjoy quickly stacking up silver. Grabbing all these items will send you on a fast track toward accumulating a three-figure silver total, making progress much smoother.
