Discovering your path in Where Winds Meet opens the door to learning new skills, forging important alliances, and uncovering your background’s secrets. There are many routes to take, and each one offers valuable experiences. Choosing a sect to join is just part of the journey, with the Silver Needle being a good place to start.
Before you can join this distinguished group of healers, you need to show you understand their beliefs and follow their rules. We’ll guide you through how to complete their initiation and stay in good standing so you can build a successful career as a doctor.
How to Answer the Three Questions for Dr. Yuan
When you hover over the Silver Needle option in the Sect menu, you’ll get a hint on where to find a contact for the group. Joining is straightforward: impress this person, and finding Dr. Yuan becomes easier than you might think. To meet him, head to Sage Knoll in the south part of Qinghe, not the northern clinic. Inside, you’ll see Dr. Yuan dressed in white robes behind a desk. Talk to him about joining the Silver Needle Sect, and he’ll ask you to answer three questions.
These questions aren’t traditional. Instead, your responses are the payments you request from three patients you help. The main rule for Silver Needle disciples is “one life, one price,” emphasizing that healing is a sacred art, and you should ask for something meaningful in return for the priceless gift of life.
What Payment to Choose for the First Patient
The first patient is a sick merchant located south of you, in a bamboo grove. He’s in intense pain and clearly upset. Use Wind Sense to examine his illness, then choose a reward for your healing. The best option is the Ill-gotten Wealth: Artwork. Although the merchant protests, offering to give you anything else, maintain your stance and confirm your choice. After healing him, move on to treat another patient further down the hill.
What Payment to Choose for the Second Patient
Further south, you’ll find an intoxicated man who has fallen and hurt himself. He’s asking for help with a fracture but has little to offer. Pick the jar of Parting Tears as your payment. The man will protest, but confirm your decision and proceed with treatment despite his objections.
What Payment to Choose for the Third Patient
Higher up the mountain, a shivering orphan girl awaits your help. She has nothing valuable to offer as payment. You can even choose to treat her for free, but remember the rule of “one life, one price.” Select the scrap of fabric as your payment and complete her healing. Afterward, return to Dr. Yuan and give him your answers. He will then offer you a spot within the Silver Needle Sect.
Silver Needle Sect Overview
Joining the Silver Needle opens access to exclusive shop items and cosmetic options as you grow in the group. To remain in good standing, you’ll need to follow these rules:
- Shared Healing: Successfully participate in multiplayer heals to earn +10 precept value.
- Healing Bodies and Minds: Collect at least 15 likes weekly; otherwise, your precept value drops by 10.
Your martial arts focus will be either the Panacea Fan or the Inkwell Fan, based on whether you prefer healing or damage-dealing.
How to Leave the Silver Needle Sect
You can leave the sect whenever you want by completing the required trial for exiting. Leaving will reset your titles and progress within the group, but you can rejoin later. Be aware that there might be cooldown periods before you can leave or rejoin again, depending on when you do it.
