Multiplayer in Skate is where the fun really kicks in. While you can explore alone, it’s much more exciting to connect with friends and turn the map into your personal playground. With friends, there’s always something to keep you busy.
Adding friends is simple. You can quickly join their sessions or invite them to join yours without digging through complicated menus. To do this, press the left D-pad button once to open the Social & Spectate menu. From there, you can see your friends list, send friend requests, join their game, or invite friends to yours. To invite someone, select their name and choose ‘Invite to Party.’
Once you’re in a multiplayer session, you have various ways to enjoy the game. You can skate freely around the map or take part in different challenges with other players. Some challenges include specific goals that are only possible when working together. For a more competitive experience, you can start a Skate Jam throwdown by holding down on the D-pad, hovering over the boxing glove icon, and releasing. These throwdowns allow up to ten players to compete by performing tricks and earning points to see who scores the highest.
Skate also supports cross-platform play, meaning players on different systems or PC can join the same games. This feature makes it easier for friends to play together regardless of the device they use. If you prefer to stick to players on your own platform, you can disable cross-platform play in the General and Social settings.
