In a game like sci-fi survival StarRupture, many things can end your exploration suddenly. The alien planet of Arcadia-7 is filled with dangerous creatures, fiery environmental hazards, and even easy-to-make mistakes like fall damage. While avoiding falls is simple with care, the hostile alien Vermin will always find ways to harm you or destroy your gear.
These enemies attack directly or explode nearby, often creating a blue mist of infection. Spider-like foes frequently damage you or your base. They leave behind a cloud of blue spores that can infect your shields and health. How do you clear this infection from your base?
### What Are The Blue Clouds?
The blue clouds are spores and mist that appear after Exploders—explosive enemies covered in bubbles of blue infection—burst. When an Exploder explodes, it releases a blue mist that reduces your shields and can damage your health over time.
If many Exploders go off at once, the mist cloud can linger longer than usual. When they attack important structures, like your main Base Core, they can fill the area with a persistent blue fog that won’t clear on its own.
To speed up the clearing process, you can shoot the Exploder’s blue bubble sac before it bursts. This prevents the infection from sticking to your equipment and buildings.
### How To Remove Blue Infection
While traveling across Arcadia-7, you’ll come across abandoned mines and old equipment covered in blue infection. When surrounded by the mist, the infection cannot be cleaned with normal methods. The only way to remove it is to find and destroy the infection sac—usually located on the equipment or somewhere inside the contaminated building.
Finding these sacs can be tricky. You might need to move quickly to keep your shields from running out and attempt multiple times. Once you’ve found the sac, shoot it with your weapon or harvester to burst it open. This will cause an infection cloud to erupt, but it should disappear quickly. After removing the sac and clearing the mist, you can repair or safely explore the area again.
Using a long-range weapon helps keep you out of the cloud while aiming at the sacs, making it easier to avoid infection exposure.
