Finding paper in Pokémon Pokopia can be unexpectedly tricky. Although it might seem straightforward, creating it is usually a late-game task. To craft paper, you’ll need specific Pokémon and materials, and there are several locations to gather what you need.
Whether hunting for materials on a dream island or collecting them yourself, you’ll need certain items for quests and crafting later on. Here’s a guide on how to obtain everything necessary to make paper and which Pokémon can help.
How to Make Paper
To craft paper, start by locating the raw resource called wastepaper, scattered throughout the game world. You’ll also need a Pokémon with the Recycle skill to turn wastepaper into usable material.
Where to Find Wastepaper
Wastepaper can be found in two main areas:
- Sparkling Skylands
- Dream Islands
Sometimes, wastepaper is also available in Palette Town.
In Sparkling Skylands, wastepaper appears near trash bins and debris, often in elevated spots on towers. The fastest way to collect more is by heading to a Dream Island. The Dream Island accessed via the Dragonite doll will lead you to an area that contains wastepaper, Pokemetal, and crystal fragments. The Dragonite doll is hidden in the ground somewhere in Sparkling Skysands.
How to Turn Wastepaper into Paper
Once you have wastepaper, bring it to a Pokémon with the Recycle ability. Show them the wastepaper and choose to convert it into paper. The Pokémon with Recycle that are available early include those you can find on Bleak Beach, such as Trubbish, which you might already have after completing Bleak Beach quests. Any Pokémon with Recycle will do, but these are some of the earliest options.
What to Do With Paper
After crafting paper, you can use it to complete various late-game quests in Sparkling Skysands. Paper is also essential for making a mini bookcase and other furniture pieces. Additionally, you’ll need paper to participate in the Team Initiation Challenge.
