Before the full release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, you’ll be able to jump into the beta early. Although the game looks quite similar to the previous version, there are new features to explore. Playing the beta can help you get used to this new style of gameplay.
Since there are two different start points for the beta, it might cause some confusion. You’ll also need to meet a few requirements to get the full experience of the beta. Here’s what you need to know if you want to get a head start in the Black Ops 7 beta.
### How to Get a Beta Code
Much like the Battlefield 6 beta, there will be an early access period, which lets you play before most players can join. But, you don’t need to watch Twitch streamers to get a code for early access. Instead, you’ll use your wallet. To get a code, you must pre-order either a physical or digital copy of Black Ops 7.
Once you pre-order the game, you’ll receive a code that can be entered through your Activision account. If you’ve pre-ordered digitally, you’ll be automatically registered for early access, so you won’t need or receive a separate code.
In addition, if you subscribe to Microsoft’s Game Pass Ultimate, you can access the beta without needing a code. Simply install the main Call of Duty game through the service, and one of the files should be the Black Ops 7 beta.
Note that you cannot pre-load the beta right now, but this option will likely be available closer to the early access date. Also, you need the Ultimate tier of Game Pass to get early access; lower plans probably won’t include it.
### How to Join Without Pre-Ordering
If you’re not interested in pre-ordering, you can still join the open beta. It’s the same length as the early access period but will have more players, which could make it more challenging but also more fun.
### When Is the Beta?
There are two key dates for the beta. The early access will start on October 2 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time and 1 p.m. Eastern Time, ending on October 5 at the same times. This early access period is when you can start playing before the general release.
When the early access ends, the open beta begins, starting on October 5 and running through October 8. The open beta will start and end at the same times as the early access.
Keep in mind, the early access won’t end entirely; it will just transition into the full open beta. During this switch, wait times may increase because more players will be trying to get in.
