While exploring the fishing village of Uxantis, you’ll meet several NPCs with optional side quests, but you need to interact with them to trigger these quests. One of these side quests—called “Like Father, Like Son”—comes from a sailor named Telmo who is worried about his missing son after a recent argument.
This quest begins near the docks in the Foreigner’s Quarters, where you’ll see Telmo pacing nervously in a red beret. Approach him and talk about his problem. He will tell you that his son, Diogo, has gone missing following a disagreement and that he doesn’t know where Diogo might be.
You’ll have three questions to ask Telmo to gather clues about the boy’s whereabouts:
– Does Diogo have a favorite place he visits?
– Does he have friends he might have met up with?
– What was their argument about?
Telmo explains that their fight was about Diogo not wanting to follow the family tradition of sailing, despite their strong heritage in that industry. He mentions that Diogo has a friend who is a glassblower with a stall in Admiral Square and that the boy often leaves the city to explore the wilderness, though he doesn’t know the exact locations he visits.
Next, locate the glassblower’s shop in Admiral Square, which isn’t marked on your map. To find it, use the map reference above: Admiral Square lies east of Captains’ Square and southeast of Market Square. The glassblower, Guilherme, can be found at his stall there.
Talking to Guilherme reveals that Diogo likes nature and is usually found near a “beautiful arch crafted by nature,” situated northeast of the town. Look for a stone arch just before a rope bridge in that direction. From the Uxantis Countryside fast travel point, head northeast into the Underbrush, cross a stream, and find the arch on the left side of the rope bridge to reach the Peninsula area.
After reaching the Peninsula, you’ll encounter some enemies—Monkey Workers and Rabid Majida—that you must fight off before finding Diogo. When you speak to him, you can choose to tell him the truth—that his father sent you—or lie, saying the captain asked you to find him. Diogo will express his feelings, ask for help convincing his father to let him stay on land, and then plan to meet you back in town.
When talking to Telmo afterward, use the information from Guilherme to help convince him that becoming a glassblower is a good career choice for Diogo. Successfully persuading Telmo to accept his son’s decision will earn you +2 Reputation with the Nauts and a second mate’s peacoat as a reward.
