The sewers in Schedule 1 provide a fair mix of danger and reward for players who have advanced enough in the main story. Introduced during a Halloween update, TVGS creates an underground world filled with hidden tunnels, useful supplies, and spooky enemies. Don’t worry, those enemies can be defeated!
Although not mandatory to finish the game, exploring the sewers adds an extra challenge that some players might want to try on their way to building their empire. Here’s everything you need to know about going underground in Schedule 1.
Schedule 1 is currently in Early Access, so details may change as development continues.
How to Access the Sewers
To get into the sewers, you first need a key. There are a few ways to find or get one. The easiest way is to buy one for $1,000. To do that, find Jen Herald in the Uptown area of the map and become friends with her. The sewer key is a master key, so once you have it or purchase it, you can use it multiple times.
Another way is to progress far enough in the main story to unlock the Warehouse. This is where you can hire NPCs, buy weapons, and get equipment for meth production. At the Warehouse, you’ll find Oscar, who can give you a brief description of a random person carrying a key. You can try to pickpocket or knock out that person to loot the key.
The slowest method is to search the map randomly. Sometimes, a sewer key will spawn on the ground somewhere in Schedule 1’s world. Since the world is large and the key could appear anywhere, finding it this way relies on luck and patience.
If you want to skip those options, you can use a command code (‘give sewerkey’) to spawn a key directly into your inventory.
How to Navigate the Sewers
Sewer entrances are usually marked by large circular gates, doors, or manholes on the street. When you have the key, it will open these entrances, which stay unlocked afterward. The sewer tunnels wind underground beneath the main map, and since they are dark and maze-like, it’s easy to get lost.
The map highlights several points of interest: entrances/exits, tunnels, and the Sewer King’s throne room. You can find entrances under the West Bridge, in the central Canal, near the Motel, by the Slop Shop, in front of the Casino, north of the Town Hall, opposite Handy Hank’s, and behind the Storage Unit.
Shrooms may be lurking in corners of the tunnels, either on the floor or walls, so keep an eye out for them.
The Sewer Goblin
One of the creepy NPCs you’ll encounter is the Sewer Goblin, which looks alien. The Goblin will attack you after some time in the sewers and can kill you if you’re not prepared. If you hit him with a weapon like a bat, he’ll run away.
You can also offer him his favorite snack, which is a single pack of meth. Keep your meth handy, as if you’re not holding it when he approaches, he will attack. Once he takes the meth, he’ll leave you alone.
The Sewer King
Another new enemy in the sewers added by the Halloween update is the Sewer King. Like the Goblin, he is very aggressive and will attack on sight. When you reach his throne room (which is behind a locked door in a Maintenance Office), he will come toward you, but he can be defeated easily.
The King is quick, but a few hits with a baseball bat or a few shots from a gun can bring him down. After defeating him, you can loot his body for a Trash Crown and some money. The real prize, however, is inside his throne room, which contains storage units, a bed, trash cans, toilets, and tables with unpacked meth, phosphorus, acids, and gasoline—perfect for establishing an underground base.
The code to enter the throne room is 1111.
