Mechanical components are a key crafting material in Arc Raiders, mainly used to upgrade your Gunsmith from level one to level two. You can find these parts while exploring loot in Mechanical areas, but they can also be crafted using the Refiner. In addition to upgrades, mechanical components are necessary for improving your weapons through the Gunsmith.
This guide will highlight some locations where you can gather Mechanical Components and explain how to refine them using the Refiner.
Where to Find Mechanical Components
You can locate Mechanical Components in various loot zones, especially in areas marked as Mechanical zones. These parts are considered uncommon, so they aren’t always easy to find, but some locations offer better farming opportunities.
One of the best places to farm Mechanical Components is the high-value loot area at the Checkpoint near the Blue Gate. This spot provides a good chance to gather parts, though beware—there’s a lot of enemies, including a large Bastion.
Many Mechanical loot areas are scattered across different maps. Some are more beginner-friendly for new players, such as the Mechanical zones in Dam Battlegrounds. These areas have a steady chance of giving you Mechanical Components with lower risk, making them ideal for your initial farming attempts.

What Materials Are Needed to Refine Mechanical Components
To craft Mechanical Components using the Refiner, you need the following base materials:
- 7 Metal Parts (obtained by looting Mechanical zones or recycling resources)
- 3 Rubber Parts (also acquired through looting or recycling)
You’ll also need to gather additional items to operate the Refiner:
- 60 Metal Parts (found in Mechanical zones or through recycling)
- 5 Arc Power Cells (obtained by looting Arc robots)
Refining these materials helps you conserve storage space by converting lower-value parts into more useful components. Keeping a steady supply ensures you’re ready for weapon upgrades and craftings like the Il Toro Shotgun, Burletta, Anvil, Muzzle Break II, and Extended Medium Mag II.
